I was suffering from severe lower back and leg pain for three weeks which was gradually getting worse.  I was completely unable to function.  My medical doctor sent me for and MRI which revealed a herniated disc at L5.  He stated that my only option was surgery.  A friend had recommended that I see Dr. Hanner first so I called and they got me in that day.  After asking me some questions about my back, Dr. Hanner did a thorough exam and stated the same thing that the MRI had said, a herniated disc.  However, to my surprise, he said we could definately get through this without surgery if we worked as a team.  His initial goal for my condition was for my pain to be gone in 4-6 weeks.  This was less time than my medical doctor had said it would take to recover from surgery.  My pain was minimal after just four weeks of treatment and was resolved after five weeks.  I am so thankful to Dr. Hanner and the whole staff.

I had a history of occasional headaches for about five years and was taking pain medication when necessary to help the pain.  However, within the past four months, my headaches had become almost daily and have intensified.  It had become difficult for me to just get through my day without dwelling completely on the pain.  I went to my medical doctor who, during his exam, began poking around on my neck.  I was shocked when he hit a spot that recreated the intense pain in my head.  He stated that he believed that was where my headaches were coming from and sent me to Dr. Hanner.  After Dr. Hanner examined and x-rayed my neck, he explained how my doctor was correct and how the majority of headaches are "cervicogenic" (coming from the neck).  The idea seemed foreign to me, but after one week of treatment, my pain was significantly reduced.  Dr. Hanner explained that sometimes chiropractic alone would only give temporary relief and recommended physical therapy to strengthen and support the corrective changes being made.  This was easy since his office also offers these services.  It has been one month since I first went to Dr. Hanner and I have been pain free for two weeks.

I had started noticing some gradually worsening pain in my right shoulder for several months.  I noticed that simply lifting a jug of milk out of the refrigerator had become difficult and painful.  My wife said I had bursitis and to get over it.  I decided to go to my doctor and get his opinion.  He disagreed with the wife and said I had a pinched nerve.  He said it was from "spinal stenosis".  Because I had already lost considerable strength in my arm, he sent me to a neurologist to have a nerve conduction study.  The test confirmed the nerve damage which they said was very serious and I was recommended to a specialist for spinal injections and possibly surgery.  I asked about chiropractic and he said he was doubtful that it could help, but referred me to Dr. Hanner.  After Dr. Hanner examined me, he said I should cheer up and that he was willing to begin a three week trial of care.  The short term goal was a significant improvement in pain within those three weeks.  He said that if we couldn't achieve that goal we would continue with Plan B.  I was 50% improved after three weeks and Dr. Hanner began me on a rehab program that lasted another five weeks.  This whole episode happened 2 years ago and I have had no trouble since then.  Thanks to everyone.

I have a four year old daughter named Anna.  Anna had been to the doctor more than any other child we know by her third birthday.  Her most significant problem was diagnosed as asthmatic-bronchitis.  She would seem to come down with anything and everything that was going around.  The only problem was that it always seemed to settle in her chest and would make it very difficult to breathe.  We were making more and more frequent trips to the E.R. and were frustrated and scared.  By her third birthday, antibiotics, steroids, and nebulizer had become typical household words.  The doctors said there was nothing they could do other than control the symptoms and hoped that she would grow out of it.  A friend had been begging me to see Dr. Hanner for about a year, and I finally gave in.  Dr. Hanner explained to me that he liked to leave the acute childhood problems up to the pediatricians, but that once the conditions have become chronic and have failed traditional medical treatment, it was essential to look to other disciplines for help.  Dr. Hanner said that he would typically find spinal problems in the upper back in children with respiratory conditions which he called "fixations".  This affected joint and nervous system function.  He found these same "fixations" in Anna's spine and assured me that treating her would be safe and most likely very effective in correcting this condition.  I was willing to try anything.  After two spinal adjustments, we noticed a big difference in Anna's breathing and sleeping pattern.  After three weeks and six treatments,  the problem never returned.  I have been taking Anna for monthly maintenance adjustments for one year now and she has only consulted her pediatrician for well visits.  Thank you so much.
